Fishing The Lower Klamath River

Chinook and Silver Salmon, Steelhead, Cutthroat and native Trout may be taken in season in all parts of the river. From the Highway 101 Klamath Bridge to the mouth of the Klamath River, fishing for all varieties is open the entire year. Sturgeon, Flounder, Perch, Candlefish, and varieties of surf fish can also be found in the lower reaches toward the mouth of the Klamath River.

Fall Chinook Salmon: Middle of July through November
Spring Chinook Salmon: March through June
Steelhead: July through March
Cutthroat: April through October
Trout: June through November
Red Tail Perch: March through October
Ocean Salmon: peak trolling April through October
