Established in 1937, Dean Creek Resort is family-owned and operated. Our award-winning park is situated on the South Fork of the Eel River in the Giant Redwood country. Nature in its finest and purest form abounds in this area. River otters, bear, deer, wild turkeys, wild boar, and mountain cats and many species of birds have been sighted at or near the resort.
Our resort features 64 RV and camping sites. All are grassy and have leveled parking areas, picnic tables, barbecue grills and fire rings. 23 sites have water, electric, TV/Cable and sewer hookups. 40 sites have water, electric, and TV/Cable hookups. One site has water only. Our pull-through sites can handle RVs up to 80 feet long. Tent campers are also welcome, in designated areas.
We are open year-round. Our deluxe motel accommodations make us a popular spot for family and group gatherings. A convenience store and coin laundry are located at the registration area. Our guests can relax by our pool and spa, take a sauna, or participate in a friendly game of shuffleboard, horseshoes, mini golf or volleyball. A lounge for card-playing or watching TV is conveniently located in the park. Cooking facilities for large gatherings are also available. Our amphitheater, under a 1500-year-old giant redwood tree, is ideal for group entertainment. We have a playground, tether ball, and basketball, as well as a game arcade for the young (and young at heart).
For the fisherman, winter months bring in the salmon and steelhead. We are fortunate to have many good fishing holes for bank fishing. Professional guides are available for day trips in drift boats.
While relaxing at Dean Creek Resort, you can enjoy days exploring the Avenue of the Giants, where the tallest living trees in the world stand, some more than 300 feet tall. Some have grown for more than 2000 years.
For an enjoyable day trip, take a picnic lunch and explore the "Lost Coast". The village of Ferndale is worth a visit, from its magnificent Victorian houses, to its historic cemetery and the rugged coast. Great ocean fishing is available at nearby Shelter Cove; or, if you prefer, you can spend the day exploring the tide pools, wandering the black sand beaches, and watching migrating gray whales. Enjoy biking, hiking, bird watching, exploring the wetlands, and wild blackberry picking.
The area has a variety of events throughout the seasons from marathons, Shakespeare On The Lake, Jazz At The Lake, Reggae On The River, Harley Run, Oyster Fest, Kinetic Sculpture Race, etc.

For bird watching enthusiasts, Dean Creek is the home to a large variety of Northern California birds. Relax in our redwood setting a view the Scrub Jay, Stellar Jay, Crow, Brewers Blackbird, Song Sparrow, Yellow Warbler, Rufous Humming Bird, Anna's Humming Bird, Western flycatcher, Turkey Vulture, House Sparrow, House Wren, Black Pheobe, common Meoganser, Belted Kingfisher, Spotted Sandpiper, Valley Quail, Cliff Swallow, Red Breasted Sapsucker, Northern Flicker, Robin, Raven and Osprey.
Fishing
In the months of November, December and January, Silver and King Salmon make their annual trip up the Eel River to spawn. They range from 8 to 40 pounds and are caught with roe, lures or flies. In January, February and March, the Salmon are joined by the annual run of Steelhead which hit the scales from 4 to 18 pounds. Dean Creek has the easiest river access in the region.
We work closely with a local fishing guide service. Call us to make advanced reservations, or sign up at the front desk, for a drift boat fishing trip with a professional fishing guide.

Hunting
The area around Dean Creek Resort abounds in deer, wild boar, wild turkey, and other game animals. If you are a hunter, you will find Dean Creek Resort an excellent base camp.
We work closely with a local hunting guide service. Call us to make advanced reservations, or stop by the front desk to arrange for a professional guide.

RV park / campground rates vary from $19 to $30 for one
or two persons, depending on site and season.
10% discount for seniors (over 62 years of age), Good Sam Club Members, AAA members, or
when paying by cash or check. Special group rates available.
Motel rates vary from $45 to $125 per room, depending
on the room and the season.
County tax is added to all room rates. 10% discount given to seniors when paying by check
or cash.
Cancellation policy: 48 hours advance notice for cancellations or 1 day charge.

If you wish to stay longer, we will make every attempt to accommodate you.
- No pets are allowed in the motel.
- Pets in the RV Park must be kept on a leash at all times.
- Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
